EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! STRICT HYGIENE!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
  • INHALATION
  • Profuse sweating, slow heartbeat, Abdominal cramps. Diarrhoea. Dizziness. Headache. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Vomiting. Weakness. Wheezing. pupillary constriction, muscle cramps. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
    Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
  • MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Roughness. (see Inhalation).
    Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
  • Blurred vision. (further see Inhalation).
face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
  • Abdominal cramps. Diarrhoea. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Vomiting. (see Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.
SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
Sweep spilled substance into containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. (extra personal protection: P3 filter respirator for toxic particles).
Separated from alkalis. Dry. Well closed.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
WHITE TO TAN SOLID (technical grade) and Colourless crystals (pure) , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

    PHYSICAL DANGERS:

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
On combustion, forms toxic gases and fumes (carbon monoxide ICSC # 0023, and oxides of nitrogen, phosphorous, and sulphur).

    OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS (OELs):
TLV: ppm; 0.1 mg/m3 (as TWA) (skin) (ACGIH 1996).

    ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and through the skin and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20░C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
Exposure could cause lowering of consciousness. Exposure may result in death.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
    PHYSICAL
